Scotland in Europe Conference
Call for papers
17th-19th October 2012

  We would like to invite everybody interested and involved in Scotland, in the country’s culture, history and politics, and in how it has been perceived and represented particularly in Central and Eastern Europe, to participate in the first conference on this subject ever to take place in Poland. We would also like to draw attention to the interdisciplinary nature of the conference and to create a forum for discussion and future cooperation between different European centres concerned with the following subjects:

CALL FOR PAPERS 

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you to the 21st PASE Conference  which will take place in Krakow on April 19-21 (Thursday-Saturday), 2012. The Conference will be hosted by the Institute of English Philology at the Jagiellonian University, Krakow.

The Organisers look forward to papers in the following areas of English studies:

1.   General linguistics

2.   Pragmatics

3.   Translation studies

4.   Applied linguistics, second language acquisition and methodology of teaching

5.   British and Commonwealth literature

6.   American literature

7.   British and American culture

We would particularly welcome papers in which authors give new answers to old questions in their respective disciplines, or pose questions which have not been asked yet in their field of study. Papers are scheduled to take twenty minutes, followed by a ten-minute discussion.
